Evaluating Teen Farmworker Education: An Evaluation of a High School ESL Health and Safety Curriculum
2006
DHHS (NIOSH) Publication Number 2011-113
While childhood agricultural injury prevention has long been recognized as an important public health issue, most research has focused on family farms and there have not been many interventions or studies targeting hired youth. In addition, there are few points of easy access to young farmworkers, and the specific health and safety needs of this worker population are often neglected by traditional agricultural youth development programs as well as by general health and safety training targeting adults.
