CDC in Kenya: Where We Work

CDC-Kenya addresses the region's toughest health problems at their source, directly working with at-risk and vulnerable families, communities, and local clinics. CDC-Kenya has two major locations that it bases its operations. The largest office is in Kisumu where CDC’s work on malaria, neglected tropical diseases, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and many others showcases the whole lifecycle of CDC’s work including bench research and linking that research into policy and practice change to improve health in Kenya. In Nairobi, CDC’s work includes managing the large PEPFAR funded HIV/AIDS program, investigating and mitigating infectious disease threats in Kibera one of the largest informal settlements in the world, and managing the CDC-Kenya office. These two offices jointly oversee the work that is taking place throughout Kenya.

CDC-Kenya provides programmatic oversight and leadership from office locations in Nairobi and Kisumu.
