Map: International Co-circulation of 2009 H1N1 and Seasonal Influenza
(As of August 6, 2010; posted August 9, 2010, 4:00 PM ET)

This picture depicts a map of the world that shows the co-circulation of 2009 H1N1 flu and seasonal influenza viruses. Australia, Chile, China, Ghana, Kenya, New Zealand, and Thailand are represented. There is a pie chart for each that shows the proportion of laboratory-confirmed influenza cases that have tested positive for either 2009 H1N1 flu or other influenza subtypes. The majority of laboratory-confirmed influenza cases reported in Australia, Chile, and Ghana in weeks 28 and 29 were 2009 H1N1 flu.
