Update: Regarding Current Nationwide TUBERSOL® Shortage

This update advises that despite the current nationwide shortage of TUBERSOL®, there is no change in the required evaluation for tuberculosis (TB) as provided in the Technical Instructions (TIs) to Civil Surgeons.
Update: Action To Be Taken by Civil Surgeons Based on 2010 Recommendations for the Seasonal Influenza (Flu) Vaccine

Update: TB Technical Instructions for Civil Surgeons Regarding Option of Using Interferon Gamma Release Assay in Place of Tuberculin Skin Test (effective November 1, 2009)

The November 2009 update gives civil surgeons the option of using an interferon gamma release assay (IGRA) in place of the tuberculin skin test to determine whether a chest radiograph is needed to evaluate for pulmonary tuberculosis.
