Course Description: This webinar will cover the basics of Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization –Time of Flight (MADLI-TOF) Mass Spectrometry Systems. It will also cover the pros and cons of using MALDI-TOF in clinical and public health laboratories. This presentation will introduce the audience to how CDC is using MicrobeNet as a method of standardizing MALDI-TOF across the country..

- Describe the Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization –Time of Flight(MALDI-TOF) Mass Spectrometry Systems
- Explain how MALDLI-T0F is used in the laboratory.
- Discuss how MicrobeNet is used to provide tools for
MALDI-T0F testing ensuring a more accurate laboratory result.
