Developed in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the International Clearinghouse for Birth Defects Surveillance and Research, the Birth Defects Surveillance Toolkit is primarily for use by low- and middle-resource countries developing or strengthening birth defects surveillance programs.
Birth Defects Surveillance Manual
The Birth Defects Surveillance Manual is intended to serve as a tool for the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of birth defects surveillance programs, particularly for countries with limited resources. The focus of the manual is on population-based and hospital-based surveillance programs.
Birth Defects Surveillance Atlas
The Birth Defects Surveillance Atlas is a companion tool to the Birth Defects Surveillance Manual and is intended to aid in classifying birth defects.
Birth Defects Surveillance Facilitator’s Guide
The Birth Defects Surveillance Facilitator’s Guide is a companion course to the Birth Defects Surveillance Manual, for use in train-the-trainer programs. The goal of this course is to provide participants with the foundational skills needed to develop population-based or hospital based surveillance programs.
