Community Environmental Health Assessment in Peru [PDF - 260 KB]
The Environmental Health Services Branch (EHSB) has worked with the Peruvian General Directorate of Environmental Health (DIGESA), CARE Peru, and other partners since 1999 to improve the practice of environmental public health in Peru. EHSB promoted the use of the Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE EH) to improve the delivery of environmental health services in Peruvian urban and peri-urban communities.
The EHSB Global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Team is currently evaluating the sustainability factors associated with the successful implementation of water, sanitation, and hygiene projects that resulted from PACE EH community environmental health assessment activities.
