Lung cancer for white female
High lung cancer death rates among white females living on the West coast were observed several years ago. The Atlas now shows that pattern among older--but not younger--women. One possible explanation: White females on the West coast began to smoke earlier than females in other areas of the country, but also quit sooner than their counterparts.
