National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program (FFFIPP)-2011

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) requested stakeholder input on the progress and future directions of the NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program (FFFIPP). NIOSH sought stakeholder input on the FFFIPP to ensure that the program is meeting the needs and expectations of the U.S. fire service, and to identify ways in which the program can be improved to increase its impact on the safety and health of fire fighters across the United States. NIOSH has compiled and will consider all comments received through the NIOSH docket and use them in making decisions on how to proceed with the FFFIPP.

Docket Number 063 is a collection of documents related to the development and progress of the FFFIPP. A NIOSH public meeting held in March 2006 discussed the progress and future direction of the FFFIPP, stakeholder needs, and enhancing the impact of the FFFIPP. A NIOSH public meeting held on November 19, 2008 discussed similar topics as well as a draft strategic plan.
