FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Liquid formulations containing organic solvents may be flammable.

Powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION

EXPOSURE
AVOID EXPOSURE OF (PREGNANT) WOMEN!

•INHALATION
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
WHITE CRYSTALLINE POWDER , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 10 mg/m3 as TWA; A4 (not classifiable as a human carcinogen); (ACGIH 2004).
MAK: sensitization of skin (Sh);
Germ cell mutagen group: 3A
(DFG 2005).
OSHA PEL: TWA 15 mg/m3 (total) TWA 5 mg/m3 (resp)
NIOSH REL: See Appendix D
NIOSH IDLH: N.D. See: IDLH INDEX

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the skin.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxic effects upon human reproduction. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes malformations in human babies.

PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES

Decomposes below melting point
Solubility in water:
none

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. This substance does enter the environment under normal use. Great care, however, should be given to avoid any additional release, e.g. through inappropriate disposal.
