TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE | ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS | PREVENTION | FIRST AID/ |
FIRE | Not combustible but enhances combustion of other substances. Many reactions may cause fire or explosion. Heating will cause rise in pressure with risk of bursting. | In case of fire in the surroundings: in large fires: water spray; in small fires: powder.
EXPLOSION | Risk of fire and explosion. Mixture with water or water vapour explodes violently on spark ignition. | In case of fire: cool cylinder by spraying with water but avoid contact of the substance with water. Combat fire from a sheltered position.
EXPOSURE | AVOID ALL CONTACT!
INHALATION | Cough. Headache. Laboured breathing. Sore throat. | Closed system and ventilation. | Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer immediately for medical attention. |

Do NOT take working clothes home. The occupational exposure limit value should not be exceeded during any part of the working exposure. The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation is therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate inhalation therapy by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered.
