FIRE Not combustible but enhances combustion of other substances. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.

In case of fire in the surroundings: all extinguishing agents allowed.

AVOID ALL CONTACT!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION Cough. Sore throat. Burning sensation. Headache. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN MAY BE ABSORBED! Redness. Pain. Skin burns. Blisters.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain. Blurred vision. Severe deep burns.
Face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Burning sensation. Abdominal pain. Diarrhoea. Nausea. Vomiting. Metallic taste.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Refer for medical attention.

PACKAGING & LABELLING

Sweep spilled substance into containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Do NOT absorb in saw-dust or other combustible absorbents. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. (Extra personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus).
Separated from combustible and reducing substances, food and feedstuffs . Keep in the dark. Store in an area without drain or sewer access. Provision to contain effluent from fire extinguishing.
Unbreakable packaging; put breakable packaging into closed unbreakable container. Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

COLOURLESS CRYSTALS OR WHITE , HYGROSCOPIC POWDER.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
Shock-sensitive compounds are formed with phosphinic acid, ethanol and acetylene. The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials. The substance decomposes under influence of light .

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed .

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is corrosive to the eyes the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion. The substance may cause effects on the kidneys .

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. The substance may have effects on the central nervous system, kidneys and peripheral nervous system , resulting in ataxia, sensory and memory disturbances, fatigue, muscle weakness and kidney impairment .

DATA

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. In the food chain important to humans, bioaccumulation takes place, specifically in aquatic organisms. It is strongly advised not to let the chemical enter into the environment because it persists in the environment.
