Mining Feature: NIOSH Self-Escape and Rescue Webinar

NIOSH Mining will host a webinar on self-escape and rescue on September 8 from noon to 1 p.m. eastern standard time (EST).
Webinar presenters will discuss current and ongoing research on self-escape competencies and responsible person training. Speakers will share information on ways in which members of the industry can get involved in future work. The webinar will also include a presentation on software training modules developed by NIOSH, including:
- The underground mine escape decision-making simulation software Mine Emergency Escape Training (MEET),
- An Underground Coal Mine Map Reading Training taught in three parts, and
- The highly realistic BG 4 Benching Trainer software - a supplemental training module for teaching apparatus benching.

Ms. Ortiz can offer more details on how to prepare to attend the webinar, which will include installing a plugin to view the webinar. You will use text chat to communicate during the session.
