Description
This course is designed to educate clinicians about neurocysticercosis (NCC) in the United States. Lesson 1 will cover basic epidemiology of the disease, including life cycle of Taenia solium (the causative agent), risk factors for acquiring the disease, the burden of disease, and prevention of the disease. Lesson 2 will discuss presentation, diagnosis, and evaluation techniques for patients with NCC. Lesson 3 will describe appropriate management of patients with NCC. Lesson 4 will include three case studies, to present an opportunity to think critically about diagnosis and management of NCC, particularly in complex cases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME®) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this educational activity for a maximum of (1.5) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Continuing Education designated for Non-Physicians:
Non-physicians will receive a certificate of participation.

Instructions for Completing Posttest & Evaluation Online
- View the Neurocysticercosis: Diagnosis and Management of Patients Living in the United States course online.
- Once you completed the course, go to CDC Training and Continuing Education Online at www.cdc.gov/tceonline.
- If you have not registered as a participant, click on new participant to create a user ID and password; otherwise click on participant login and login.
- If you have registered in this system before, please use the same login name and password. This will ensure an accurate transcript.
- Once you have logged in/registered, Click on search and keyword search for course WB2528.
- Click on the course. The course information page will come up. Scroll down to register here. Click on the type of CE credit that you would like to receive and then submit. Three demographic questions will come up. Complete the questions and then submit.
- From "Participant services," click on "evaluations and tests"
- Answer the questions presented on posttest (all answers are in the course material).
- To receive continuing education credit, you must answer all of the questions.
- Some questions have more than one answer. Questions with more than one answer will instruct you to "indicate all that are correct."
- Complete the course evaluation.
- You will be able to immediately print your continuing education certificate from your personal transcript.
- A record of your completion will be located in the transcript and certificate section of your record.
