Program Description
The goal of this activity is to explain what we have learned about disaster response and the medical and mental health effects of environmental exposures, particularly 9/11.
Objectives
At the conclusion of the session, the participant will be able to
- Identify types of environmental exposures that can affect health following a disaster or terrorist attack
- Summarize ways in which environmental exposure science can inform public health policy before and after disaster
- Identify immediate and long-term health needs of exposed populations following a disaster, using lessons learned from the WTC Health Program population
- Population-based care (Provider): Assess the healthcare status and needs of a targeted patient population
