History

The Virginia Tech Carilion Emergency Medicine Residency program is excited to enter its fifth year as an ACGME accredited program. The PGY 1-3 curriculum emphasizes time in the emergency department beginning in the PGY-1 year.

The Carilion Clinic Emergency Medicine faculty provide medical care in six hospitals throughout western Virginia, serving a diverse population of 1.3 million people and receiving exposure to a broad spectrum of disease and injury. Residents rotate through two of these hospitals during residency training.
