Administration
- Type: Topical steroid
- Dosage Forms: cream, emollient, foam, gel, lotion, ointment, spray, shampoo
- Routes of Administration: topical
- Common Trade Names: Olux, Temovate, Clobex, Cormax
Adult Dosing
- Most indications: apply to affected area of skin BID, max 50g/week
- Genital lichen sclerosus: apply to vulva once daily
- Scalp psoriasis: apply shampoo to affected areas dry scalp once daily; leave in place 15 minutes before lathering and rinsing. Max 50ml/week x 2 weeks
Pediatric Dosing
Safety/efficacy not established in children <12yo

Contraindications
- Allergy to class/drug
- Primary scalp infection
Adverse Reactions
Serious
- Secondary hypocortisolism (higher risk in pediatrics)
- Intracranial hypertension

- Skin atrophy, asteatotic eczema
- Skin irritation, burning, discomfort, dryness
- Pruritus
- Telangiectasia
- Upper respiratory infection
