- due to blood CA or allergy or helminthic infc
- hookworm, ascariasis, strongyloides, Schistosomiasis, filariasis, visceral larva migrans, trichinosis, cocci
- eval with stool for O&P
- serology
- blood smear
- skin snips for microfilariae
