History
The Emergency Department (ED) at MMC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of a high-volume, tertiary-care patient population.
The ED is the busiest in Maine and serves approximately 70,000 patients per year from Maine and New Hampshire, as well as visitors from all over the world.
Its ED utilizes some of the most advanced technologic and therapeutic treatment modalities available in emergency medicine today, including bedside ultrasonography, light-speed CT scanning, digital radiography, and advanced airway management systems.
