Background
- Limited to forearm and lower leg long bones
- The diaphysis of the long bone is deformed but the periosteum is preserved
Clinical Features
Differential Diagnosis
Evaluation
- X-ray findings are subtle (no fracture line)
- Will show abnormal curvature
- Bowing or bending
- Helpful to compare to uninvolved extremity
Management
- Ortho consult
- Difficult to reduce (usually requires completion of the fracture)
- Proper reduction and realignment is essential
