History
The Department of Emergency Medicine at UAMS has a very rich and distinguished history. Founded in 1983 we have been training Emergency Medicine physicians for over 30 years. UAMS is Arkansas’ only Level 1 Trauma Center. Our vision is to become the statewide and national leader in the advancement of emergency medical patient care, education, and scholarship.
Our mission is to deliver timely, compassionate patient care while creating an environment of collegiality, multi-disciplinary collaboration, outstanding clinical teaching, and clinically impactful scientific discovery. Pursue clinical, education, and scholarly excellence while demonstrating integrity, empathy, and respect for our patients and colleagues.
