Global Projects
The goal of DDT’s global projects is to reduce the global burden of diabetes by working with international partners. To achieve this goal, DDT contributes technical skills and resources to international or national organizations and public health agencies in other countries. These efforts support research and programs related to the prevention and control of diabetes in these countries.
Global Projects
Estimating Global Health Care Expenditure Associated with Diabetes
Overall Objective: Diabetes imposes a large financial burden on national health care systems worldwide. Quantifying this burden for individual countries, different regions of the world, and the world as a whole can help researchers and public officials monitor changes over time. It also helps them assess the effect of their efforts to prevent and manage diabetes at national, regional, and international levels. The primary objective of this project is to estimate health care expenditures associated with diabetes by country, by region, and for the world.
