HIV Care Outcomes Among Hispanics or Latinos with Diagnosed HIV Infection — United States, 2015

CDC found that 75.4% of Hispanics or Latinos aged ≥13 years with diagnosed HIV infection in 2015 were linked to care within 1 month of diagnosis and that among Hispanics or Latinos aged ≥13 years living with diagnosed HIV at year-end 2014 in 37 states and the District of Columbia, 70.2% received care, 58.3% were retained in care, and 58.2% were virally suppressed. Hispanics or Latinos had lower percentages of being linked to care, retained in care, and virally suppressed in comparison with non-Hispanic whites (79.9%, 58.5%, and 65.0% respectively).
Vaccination Coverage for Selected Vaccines, Exemption Rates, and Provisional Enrollment Among Children in Kindergarten — United States, 2016–17 School Year

During the 2016–17 school year, kindergarten vaccination coverage for MMR, DTaP, and varicella vaccine each approached 95%, and the median exemption rate among children attending kindergarten was 2%; these rates have been relatively consistent since the 2011–12 school year.

Nonpharmaceutical interventions are strategies for disease, injury, and exposure control. They include actions that persons and communities can take to help slow the spread of respiratory viruses (e.g., seasonal and pandemic influenza viruses). These 2017 guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations on the use of NPIs in mitigating the effects of pandemic influenza. These guidelines update and expand the 2007 strategy.
