Epidemiologic Notes and Reports Salmonellosis Outbreaks associated with Commercial Frozen Pasta -- Massachusetts, New Jersey, New YorkOutbreaks of Salmonella group D infections in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts have been associated with frozen pasta foods made by Rotanelli Foods, Inc. of New Rochelle, New York. S. enteritidis (group D) and S. heidelberg (group B) have been isolated from implicated products. These products are distributed to restaurants, caterers, institutions, and retail stores throughout the United States. A voluntary recall has begun. Questions about product distribution should be referred to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration District Offices. Associated outbreaks should be reported to the appropriate state health department and to Enteric Diseases Branch, Division of Bacterial Diseases, Center for Infectious Diseases, CDC.
