Prevention and Control of Influenza: Recommendations of the
Immunization Practices Advisory Committee (ACIP)
Clarification: Vol. 39, No. RR-7
After publication of the MMWR Recommendations and Reports
entitled Prevention and Control of Influenza: Recommendations of
the Immunization Practices Advisory Committee (ACIP) (1), Table 1
was modified to clarify that, as in previous years, only
split-virus vaccines should be given to children less than or
equal to 12 years of age. The change from previous ACIP
recommendations is that children 9-12 years of age may receive
one dose of vaccine rather than the previously recommended two
doses.
