Notices to Readers Electromagnetic Radiation WorkshopOn January 30 and 31, 1991, CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will convene a Scientific Workshop in Cincinnati, Ohio, to develop a National Research Strategy on the Health Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation on Workers. The purpose of the workshop is to review current data and new findings regarding electromagnetic radiation that may have relevance for occupational exposures; identify knowledge gaps that might be filled by directed research; and recommend a national research agenda that, if implemented, would close the gaps and permit reliable recommendations for protecting workers. The workshop will emphasize electric and magnetic fields at frequencies up to 1000 Hz, excluding static fields, and carcinogenic, reproductive, and neurologic health effects. The number of attendees will be limited to 250. Further information and registration forms are available from the Electromagnetic Radiation Workshop, Project Coordinator (R-2), NIOSH, CDC, 4676 Columbia Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45226; telephone (513) 841-4321.
