Notices to Readers Publication of Recommendations for Preventing Transmission of HIV and Hepatitis B Virus to Patients During Exposure-Prone Invasive Procedures

CDC has published Recommendations for Preventing Transmission of Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Hepatitis B Virus to Patients During Exposure-Prone Invasive Procedures in the July 12, 1991, issue of MMWR Recommendations and Reports (volume 40, number RR-8). This document was developed to update recommendations for prevention of transmission of human immunodeficiency virus and hepatitis B virus in the health-care setting and provides guidance for prevention of transmission to patients during invasive procedures that are considered exposure-prone.
