Notices to Readers Publication on Children's Exposure to Environmental SmokeCDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) has released a report on the effect of children's exposure to environmental cigarette smoke before and after birth. Data are based on the 1988 National Health Interview Survey on Child Health, conducted by NCHS in collaboration with the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and the Health Resources and Services Administration. Statistics are presented by race, family income, poverty level, and place of residence. Data by exposure level are included as well.
