Tuberculosis Morbidity -- United States, 1991In 1991, health departments in all 50 states, New York City, and the District of Columbia reported to CDC 26,283 cases of tuberculosis through the Report of a Verified Case of Tuberculosis surveillance system -- an increase of 582 cases (2.3%) from 25,701 cases reported in 1990 (1). The tuberculosis incidence rate for 1991 was 10.4 per 100,000 population, compared to 10.3 per 100,000 in 1990. Further analysis will be published in an issue of CDC Surveillance Summaries.
