Notice to Readers
Courses on Physical Activity and Public Health
CDC, the University of South Carolina Prevention Center, and
the South
Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control will
cosponsor two
courses for biomedical and behavioral researchers and public health
professionals. The courses are designed to train health
professionals to
conduct community physical activity research and interventions and
to
promote physical activity initiatives and policies in communities.
Both
courses are scheduled for September 1996 at Seabrook Island, South
Carolina.
The first course, "A Postgraduate Course on Research Directions
and
Strategies," developed primarily for postdoctoral health
professionals, is
scheduled for September 18-25, 1996. The second course, "A
Practitioner's
Course on Community Interventions and Strategies," designed for
public
health practitioners, will be held September 19-23, 1996.
The deadline for applications is May 15, 1996. Participation in
each
course is limited. Additional information and application forms are
