Availability of Histoplasmosis Prevention Guidelines
Histoplasmosis: Protecting Workers at Risk, revised guidelines
for preventing histoplasmosis, was published by CDC's National
Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and National
Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID). This publication describes
information about health risks of Histoplasma capsulatum exposures
and specific details about personal protective equipment. These
guidelines are designed for health and safety professionals,
environmental consultants, and persons supervising workers involved
in activities where contaminated materials are disturbed.
