Notice to Readers Satellite Broadcast on HIV Prevention"HIV Prevention Update," a satellite broadcast, will be held Thursday, October 22, 1998, from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. eastern daylight time. Cosponsors are CDC and the Public Health Training Network. This forum, the fourth in the "HIV Prevention Update" series, will focus on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) prevention for persons who are HIV-infected. This broadcast is designed for staff and volunteers working in HIV and sexually transmitted disease prevention in health departments, community-based organizations, community-planning groups, education, and administration and for health-care providers in direct contact with persons who are HIV-infected or at risk for HIV infection. Speakers will discuss the following topics related to persons who are HIV-infected: the need to focus on this population; the range of services that should be provided; the challenges of being HIV-infected; local, state, territorial, and federal activities; findings from behavioral research; and the cost-effectiveness of HIV prevention in this area. Viewers are invited to submit questions before, during, or after the broadcast.
