In the article "Control of Infectious Diseases,"
on page 622, at the end of the second paragraph under Sanitation and Hygiene, a footnote
should appear. The footnote should read "This trend in mortality does not take into
account changes in population composition or changes between revisions of the International
Classification of Diseases over time. If these changes were taken into account, the
downward trend in TB mortality from 1900 to 1940 would not change substantially."
