* Age-adjusted to the 2000 U.S. standard population using four age groups: <18 years, 18--44 years, 45--64 years, and >65 years. 95% confidence interval. During 1999--2002, approximately 50% of females and 40% of males reported using at least one prescription drug during the preceding month, with non-Hispanic whites more likely to do so than non-Hispanic blacks and Mexican-Americans.
