Announcement: Journal Supplement on Developing the Public Health Workforce

A new supplement of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice, developed and sponsored by CDC's Office of Workforce and Career Development (OWCD), calls attention to the need for a larger and more capable public health workforce in the United States. The 23 reports in the issue are authored by leaders in public health--related academics and research, including staff members from CDC's Office of the Director and OWCD. The authors present solutions to training and development, discuss problems limiting the growth of the public health workforce, offer methods for improving research, and provide new strategies for recruiting and inspiring youths to seek careers in health and science.
