Number of passengers who have reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of passengers: 168 of 1,854 (9.06%)

Number of ill crew who have reported being ill during the voyage out of total number of crew: 19 of 983 (1.93%)

Predominant symptoms: diarrhea and vomiting

Actions: In response to the outbreak, the crew onboard the ship have implemented infection control and outbreak response procedures, including:

closed buffet service, except for served beverages and snacks
isolation of ill passengers and crew until symptom free for a minimum of 24-48 hours
continuous disinfection of high hand-contact (touch) surfaces
additional disinfection spraying of all public areas following disembarkation in San Francisco
segregation of soiled laundry from infected cabins for washing in high temperature machines
VSP has requested and is receiving GI illness reports twice daily
the ship has 2 remaining U.S. ports on this world cruise, from 1-2 February in Hawaii
VSP staff met the ship in New York on the previous outbreak voyage ending 12 January and conducted an operational inspection on 15 January in Ft. Lauderdale, FL
