CDC Launches New Advanced Query and Data in the NCHHSTP Atlas
September 30, 2015
Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the latest update to the NCHHSTP Atlas that adds new data and functions and gives you the power to make CDC data work for you. The Atlas is the one-stop shop for CDC’s most recent surveillance data on HIV, viral hepatitis, STDs, and TB. The Atlas gives you access to more than 10 years of the most essential CDC data for these diseases at the national, state, and county levels, and by populations. You can use the Atlas to see disease trends over time and the burden of these diseases in your community. It also gives you the ability to make custom maps, figures, and tables that you can use for planning, reports, presentations, and advocacy.
This update adds 2013 data for HIV, STDs, and TB; county-level data and origin of birth data for TB; and the first version of an advanced query option that lets you go deeper into the data. With the basic query, you can make maps of the data. The new advanced query lets you create custom tables and gives you the ability to look at data for multiple states or counties, see two or more years of data at the same time, and drill down into the data for important subpopulations. You can also download the data for more complex statistical analyses.
The Atlas may be useful to community planning groups, health departments, community-based organizations, advocates, researchers, as well as the general public. It gives users the ability to get the CDC data they need, when they need it, and how they need it.
CDC is committed to improving and expanding the Atlas. Please visit the NCHHSTP Atlas and check out the new features and functions. You can read more about the additions in the ‘What’s New’ web page and find detailed instructions on how to use the Atlas on the ‘About the Atlas’ web page.
Sincerely,
/Jonathan Mermin/
