At the September 17, 2013 Personal Protective Equipment Conformity Assessment public meeting, breakout sessions were conducted in the following industry sectors:
Each group addressed the five questions listed below:
- Who defines the basic health and safety requirements (BHSRs) for your industry?
- How should the BHSRs be established?
- Who should address what PPE is needed to meet BHSRs?
- Who determines the technical standards that demonstrate the BHSRs are met?
- How are conformity assessment requirements linked to PPE types?
The slides for each of the three breakout sessions summarize the discussions and do not provide complete descriptions of the dialog. If you have any questions, please contact Rich Metzler at rmw0@cdc.gov.
