Acoustical Society of America (ASA)

American Academy of Audiology (AAA)
The American Academy of Audiology is the world's largest professional organization of, by, and for audiologists. The active membership of more than 10,000 is dedicated to providing quality hearing care services through professional development, education, research, and increased public awareness of hearing and balance disorders.

American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)
The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) has over 10,000 members and is “one of the largest international associations serving the needs of occupational and environmental health and safety professionals practicing industrial hygiene in industry, government, labor, academic institutions, and independent organizations.”

American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA)
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is the professional, scientific, and credentialing association for 145,000 members and affiliates who are speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists in the United States and internationally.

American Tinnitus Association
ATA is a global leader in the effort to find a cure for tinnitus. The Association brings together patients, researchers, healthcare professionals, industry partners, and lawmakers to develop tinnitus management tools and fund vital tinnitus research.

Association for Research in Otolaryngology (ARO)
ARO encourages and promotes research, both basic and clinical, in the broad field of Otolaryngology and related areas. The Associations also fosters friendly assembly and stimulates scientific interest among its members.

Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC)
The Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation's (CAOHC) main objective is to provide education, information and guidance to industry and those serving industry regarding the successful implementation of an occupational hearing conservation program. It seeks to prevent occupational hearing loss.

Hear Forever
HearForever is an ongoing campaign by Howard Leight to build awareness about the risks, dangers and consequences of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL). It is a definitive source for regularly updated details about the latest advances, research and discoveries relating to NIHL. The site also provides an extensive library of existing materials and interactive resources for anyone interested in learning more about the ways NIHL can be measured, reduced and even eliminated.

Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA)
The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is the nation’s leading organization representing people with hearing loss. HLAA provides assistance and resources for people with hearing loss and their families to learn how to adjust to living with hearing loss. HLAA is working to eradicate the stigma associated with hearing loss and raise public awareness about the need for prevention, treatment, and regular hearing screenings throughout life.

Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA (INCE)
The Institute of Noise Control Engineering of the USA (INCE/USA) is a non-profit professional organization incorporated in Washington, DC. A primary purpose of the Institute is to promote engineering solutions to environmental, product, machinery, industrial and other noise problems.

Laborers' Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA)
The Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America exists to enhance jobsite safety and health, improve the competitiveness of LIUNA signatory employers, and strengthen the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA). The Fund embraces the collaborative strategy of LIUNA and its signatory employers to build market share for union Laborers.

League for the Hard of Hearing
The League for the Hard of Hearing is now known as The Center for Hearing and Communication (CHC). CHC is a premier hearing center in New York City and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Center specializes in state-of-the-art hearing testing, hearing devices, speech therapy, and emotional health and wellness services for children and adults with hearing loss and auditory conditions.

Military Audiology Association (USA)
The Military Audiology Association’s mission is to ensure operational readiness and quality-of-life to the Fighting Force and eligible beneficiaries by providing cost-effective hearing health care through state-of-the-art audiological services, including prevention, medical surveillance, education, and research. The Association strategically places military audiologists to support the Fighting Force for success on the modern battlefield.

Mine Safety and Health Administration--Noise (MSHA Noise Rule 1999)
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) is a part of the US Department of Labor. Their mission is to administer the provisions of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 (Mine Act), enforce compliance with mandatory safety and health standards, reduce the frequency and severity of nonfatal accidents, minimize health hazards, and promote improved safety and health conditions in the nation's mines.

National Association of the Deaf
The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is the nation's premier civil rights organization of, by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States of America. The advocacy scope of the NAD is broad, covering a lifetime and impacting future generations in the areas of early intervention, education, employment, health care, technology, telecommunications, youth leadership, and more – improving the lives of millions of deaf and hard of hearing Americans.

National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA)
NHCA was formed in 1976 to provide a forum where others of similar persuasion could share information and gain increased insights regarding occupational hearing conservation. The Association's focus has broadened to not only include the prevention of hearing loss due to noise and other environmental factors in the American work force but also in the general population.

National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD)
The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), conducts and supports research in the normal and disordered processes of hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, and language. The NIDCD's mission & strategic plans include conducting and supporting biomedical and behavioral research and creating research planning documents.

Noise Pollution Clearinghouse
The Noise Pollution Clearinghouse is a national non-profit organization that provides extensive online noise-related resources and is dedicated to raising awareness of and controlling noise pollution.

Occupational Health Cochrane Reviews
The Occupational Health Cochrane Reviews are evidenced-based reviews for occupational health. A team of reviewers in Finland, the Netherlands and NIOSH have conducted a review to examine which strategies are effective to protect against loud noise at work.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Noise and Hearing Conservation
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created by the same 1970 Congressional act that created NIOSH. Both organizations tend to work together closely – NIOSH focusing on research efforts and OSHA focusing on rule-making and enforcement.

Sight and Hearing Association
The Sight and Hearing Association is a nonprofit organization with a mission to enable lifetime learning by identifying preventable loss of vision and hearing in children. The Sight & Hearing Association (SHA), a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, was founded in 1939 as the Minnesota Society for the Prevention of Blindness. Today's Sight & Hearing Association is the only organization in the country working toward the prevention of, rather than the adaptation to, vision and hearing loss.
