Global Tobacco Surveillance System (GTSS) Releases 145 School Based Survey Fact Sheets
The Global Tobacco Surveillance System Data (GTSSData) is a Web-based application that houses and displays data from four tobacco-related surveys conducted around the world. This surveillance data system was designed to enhance countries' capacity to monitor tobacco use, guide national tobacco prevention and control programs, and facilitate comparison of tobacco-related data at the national, regional, and global levels.
On September 12, 2012, 145 country-specific Fact Sheets were added to the site. The Fact Sheets include summary-level data on tobacco use and tobacco control indicators from the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS), the Global School Personnel Survey (GSPS) and the Global Health Professions Student Survey (GHPSS).
