Background

  • Rare
  • Caused by occlusion of hepatic veins, 75% primary (thrombosis), 25% secondary (compression by mass)
  • Fulminant, acute, chronic, or asymptomatic.

  • Ultrasound, retrograde angiography
  • CT and MRI less sensitive
