The following national organizations offer resources and technical support to communities completing community health assessments:

• American Public Health Association
  Represents a broad array of health professionals and others who care about their own health and the health of their communities.
• Association of State and Territorial Health Officials
  Tracks, evaluates, and advises public health agencies and professionals on the impact and formation of public or private health policy and provides guidance and technical assistance. Houses many accreditation and performance materials for states.
• Indian Health Service
  Ensures that comprehensive, culturally acceptable personal and public health services are available and accessible to American Indian and Alaska Native people.
• National Association of County and City Health Officials
  NACCHO’s Public Health Infrastructure and Systems website has many resources on community health assessment and improvement planning, accreditation preparedness, and quality/performance improvement. Additional materials can also be found at the Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan Resource Center.
• National Indian Health Board
  Partnered with the Public Health Accreditation Board to explore tribal public health department accreditation and lists Tribal Public Health Accreditation Project resources.
• National Network of Public Health Institutes
  The Community Health Improvement page has resources for community health assessment and improvement planning.
• Public Health Accreditation Board
  Promotes and protects the public’s health by advancing the quality and performance of all public health departments in the US through national public health department accreditation.
• Public Health Improvement Resource Center
  This resource center was created by the Public Health Foundation to meet the needs and interests of states, communities, and the public in supporting public health improvement. This website serves as a gateway to information and resources about building capacity of public health systems.
• Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
  Focuses on a stronger public health system that builds evidence for what works, collaborates with policy-makers, business, education, health care, and community organizations.
