Substance Priority List (SPL) Resource Page
This web page provides supporting information regarding the development of the Substance Priority List, as well as expanded information on current and past lists.
Support Document to the 2017 Substance Priority List – Describes the methodology used to generate the Substance Priority List.
Full SPL Spreadsheet – An Excel spreadsheet with all SPL and CEP Report details for every element of their algorithms, along with additional supporting information. It includes data from all past runs, including information from all available candidates each time (not just the top 275). It includes concentration statistics for these important substances in major media, data which is not readily available anywhere else. Also includes summary statistics for the dataset as a whole to put it into perspective (total number of hazardous waste sites for each run, number of documents available, substances encountered, etc.). See the spreadsheet’s cover sheet for more information on this data.
SPL Toxicity Values – A spreadsheet of the Reportable Quantities (RQs) and Toxicity/Environmental Scores (TESs) used for the SPL.
Methodology for Toxicity/Environmental Scores – Describes the methodology used to determine the Toxicity/Environmental Scores (TESs) for the Substance Priority List.
SPL Dates and Notices – A table of run, release, and Federal Register Notice dates and links, for current and past SPLs. Includes a short historical overview of the List.
