CDC-Recommended and Promising* Programs
The CDC Arthritis Program recommends evidence-based programs that are proven to improve the quality of life of people with arthritis. Learn more about the programs that we currently recommend or consider promising programs:
Physical Activity Programs
Self-Management Education Programs
*Promising Programs are intervention programs with promising evaluation data and which are building the infrastructure to support program delivery across the country. State health departments receiving CDC-Arthritis Program funding can disseminate promising programs along with recommended programs, except when noted.
Intervention Watch List
The intervention programs on our Intervention Watch List are currently undergoing evaluation to determine their effects on the health of people with arthritis.
Screening Criteria
The CDC Arthritis Program screens intervention programs for their arthritis- appropriateness, adequate evidence base, and infrastructure necessary for widespread dissemination as a public health intervention. Learn more about the Program’s Intervention Screening Criteria.
Compendium of Arthritis- Appropriate Interventions
A compendium of CDC Arthritis Program recommended evidence-based intervention programs is available.
