What We Do
HIV
CDC-Vietnam focuses its efforts on high prevalence provinces and works in partnership with the Government of Vietnam (GVN) to support targeted programming for most-at-risk populations, which include people who inject drugs, commercial sex workers, and men who have sex with men (MSM). Additionally, CDC focuses on strengthening laboratory systems, developing surveillance and health information systems, and maximizing impact through targeted interventions for injection drug users.
TB
CDC has collaborated with the Vietnam National Tuberculosis Program (NTP) to provide technical assistance for fighting Multi-Drug Resistant TB (MDR TB), building country capacity, providing operations research training, and evaluating infection control practices in healthcare facilities. In 2001, this effort was expanded to also address TB/HIV co-infection.
