New Surgeon General's Report on Secondhand Smoke to be Released

For Tuesday, June 27, 2006

WHO: Vice Admiral Richard Carmona, US Surgeon General

WHAT: Surgeon General Carmona will host a press conference to release the new Surgeon General's Report on the Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke. Twenty years ago, the first Surgeon General's report on secondhand smoke created greater awareness across the country about the exposure of nonsmokers to tobacco smoke. The new report to be released June 27 provides a fresh perspective on the best available science in this area to better inform policymakers, health professionals, and the public at large.
