Georgia Moore, MS

Associate Director for Policy

Since December 7, 2009, Georgia Moore, MS, has served as the associate director for policy in CDC's Office for State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support (OSTLTS). Moore’s primary job functions include strategic planning, performance measurement management, and policy.

She has worked in communications, policy, program management, and strategic planning in a number of programs at CDC since 1996. She provides leadership and guidance to OSTLTS management and staff in goals management, strategic planning, evaluation, and budget and performance integration activities. She ensures that OSTLTS' activities and priorities are appropriately planned, implemented, tracked, and reported. She also provides guidance on policy, legislative issues, and long-term strategies for program development. She represents OSTLTS programs in cross-cutting strategic planning, performance management, and policy activities, such as Healthy People 2020 and health reform activities, and is OSTLTS’ liaison to CDC's budget formulation and policy units.

Prior to working at OSTLTS, Moore obtained a broad range of public health experience working in the National Center for Environmental Health, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, and the Coordinating Center for Health Information and Service in positions such as health communications specialist, lead project analyst and advisor, associate director for policy, and strategy and innovation officer.

She holds bachelor’s degrees in biology and journalism and a master's degree in microbiology.
