- Academic Partnerships to Improve Health (APIH)
  CDC supports APIH in improving health outcomes through alliances among four national academic associations that represent the education of public health professionals, physicians, and nurses; APIH works within the educational systems to enhance teaching of population health concepts and foster inter-professional collaboration and learning in health professional education
- CDC Learning Connection (CDC LC)
  A one-stop learning resource that can help increase public health knowledge and skills and meet professional development needs; free access to public health instructional products developed by CDC and others, CDC partners, and other health organizations; features quality e-learning and quick-learn lessons for mobile learning on-the-go; CDC TRAIN, an affiliate of the nation’s most comprehensive learning management system, resides on CDC LC
- Division of Scientific Education and Professional Development (DSEPD)
  DSEPD provides leadership in public health training and education, and manages innovative, evidence-based programs to prepare the health workforce to meet public health challenges of the 21st century

The American Journal of Preventive Medicine released this special supplement, which highlights data-driven research and critical issues relevant to the public health workforce. The supplement emphasizes work that addresses the rapidly changing public health system (such as changes in the public health and healthcare systems given the Affordable Care Act, the explosion of “big data,” and the use of evolving technology).
