Injury Prevention
Injury is the leading cause of death for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) people ages 1 to 54. Compared to other ethnicities, AI/ANs have the highest injury-related deaths from motor vehicle crashes, pedestrian events, and suicide. Like chronic and infectious disease, injuries can be prevented. These resources address intentional and unintentional injuries that affect AI/AN communities at the highest rates.
