The National Collaboration to Promote Health, Wellness, and Academic Success of School-Age Children (CDC-RFA-DP16-1601)
This funding opportunity announcement is focused on promoting and implementing evidence-based school nutrition, physical activity, out-of-school time, and school health services policies, practices, and programs. National nongovernment organizations will support states, school districts, and schools to achieve the short-, intermediate-, and long-term outcomes. The activities and strategies outlined in this FOA are organized by the following categories: 1) professional development and technical assistance; 2) education and dissemination; and 3) internal and coordination activities. These three categories of strategies and the corresponding activities will provide school health and education leaders in states, districts, and schools with greater knowledge, skills, and abilities to develop and implement evidence-based policies, practices, and programs. These strategies have broad reach, sustained health impact, and are a good investment for public health.
